Pengaruh Motivasi Kepala Madrasah Terhadap Kinerja Guru Dalam Proses Belajar Mengajar Di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Kota Pekanbaru

This research was motivated by the low performance of some teachers in the teaching and learning process (not maximal), in the other hand the teachers’ performance should be high. Because the principal had given his motivation in the form of setting the physical environment, work atmosphere, encouragement and so forth. Based on the observation in the field related to the performance of the teacher in teaching, there were some signs as follows: (1) there were still some teachers whose lacking mastery of the material so they cannot explain correctly in class, (2) there were still some teachers who were less able to manage classes , and (3) there were some teachers who did not conduct evaluations at the end of the lesson. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of the principal’s motivation on the teacher's performance in the teaching and learning process at MTs 3 Pekanbaru. The type of this research is a correlation study and the data collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. Meanwhile, the population of this study was as many as the sample consisting of 14 people. Based on the results of data processing calculated through SPSS 20, then the data were obtained through the summary model table that shows a correlation coefficient value of 0.835 or 83.5%. From these results, it can be concluded that there is an influence of principal’s motivation on the teacher's performance in the teaching and learning process at MTs 3 Pekanbaru. And the influence level of motivation on the teacher performance is very strong
