Profil Kemampuan Literasi Sains Siswa Smp Islam As-shofa Kota Pekanbaru Berdasarkan The Program For International Student Assessment (PISA) Pada Konten Biologi

This study aims to obtain an overview of the profile of scientific literacy abilities of As- Shofa Islamic Middle School students in Pekanbaru City based on The International Student Assessment (PISA) Program on Biological content. This research is descriptive research. The instrument used was a matter of scientific literacy based on PISA 2009. The research was conducted in April 2019. The population in this study were class IX students of As-Shofa Islamic Middle School in Pekanbaru City with a proportional stratified sampling sampling technique so that samples were grouped based on high, medium and low as many as 135 students. The results showed that the scientific literacy skills of students in As-Shofa Islamic Middle School in Pekanbaru City were low with a percentage of 56.86%. Ability based on competence identifies low category problems with a percentage of 56.43%, competency explains scientifically a low category with a percentage of 54.43% and competencies using scientific evidence in a low category with a percentage of 59.71%. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the students of As-Shofa Islamic Middle School in Pekanbaru City have low scientific literacy skills
