In fall 2019 I was asked to develop a for-credit Information Literacy course – from scratch, to start in just a few weeks. Having only done one-shots in the past, I went looking for resources to tell me how to begin designing this full course, but I found very little. So, having now taught this course successfully 4 times, in multiple formats, this is the presentation I wish I could have attended before I designed my class! I will discuss all aspects of creating an Information Literacy course from scratch, including developing learning objectives, structuring your content, open source learning materials, syllabi, and other concepts that are helpful in designing such a course.
