Teaching consistently ranks among the highest stress professions, second only to nursing. And, research tells us a whopping 41% of teachers leave the profession within 5 years. Teaching has always been extremely demanding, but especially in the last year and-a-half with no end in sight, unfortunately. What research also tells us is that stress and burnout can not only cause teachers to leave but can significantly impair the instructional effectiveness and classroom climate of educators, which in turn can affect the social-emotional and academic growth of their students.
