Background: A history of childhood maltreatment and psychopathology are common in adults with obesity. Objectives: To report childhood maltreatment and to evaluate associations between severity and type of childhood maltreatment and lifetime history of psychopathology among adults with severe obesity awaiting bariatric surgery.
