La pandemia de COVID-19 provocó un incremento del diagnóstico de las patologías psíquicas en el personal de salud en comparación con la población general, el incremento se debió a los problemas relacionados con el estrés laboral, consecuencia del COVID-19. Durante la pandemia del COVID 19, el personal de salud que laboraban en áreas críticas y servicio de emergencias, fueron los más afectados, debido a que tuvieron gran exigencia asistencial, largos turnos, uso de equipo de protección personal y alto nivel de responsabilidad. Cuanto mayor fue la exposición, mayor fue el agravamiento de los síntomas psicológicos. Dentro de personal de salud, el personal de enfermería fueron los más afectados.
