This paper aims to reflect on the school by addressing some historical aspects related to its emergence, objectives, and practices, regarding the modern school and the contemporary school. These readings make it possible to problematize the training in the present that convenes us, by considering continuous learning as a notion that modifies the ways of teaching, learning, and, ultimately, of being individuals.
