Use of E-Scaffolding during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Learning Chemistry from Home

The Indonesian education system during the COVID-19 pandemic must be ready to transform online learning. To support online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, online learning media are needed that can help students learn from home. The Purposed of the research was to the effectiveness of using e-scaffolding in learning chemistry from home with the colloid concept among 11th-grade students during the COVID-19 period. The population in this study was 103 students consisting of three classes. The sample used in the study was the experimental group, the number of students was 23 students and the control group was 26 students. Data were collected using tests and questionnaires. Instrument validation and item quality analysis using item response theory based on the Rasch model approach using the Quest program The finding of this study is that e-scaffolding provides assistance to students to learn from home in accordance with ZPD conditions either by using computers or mobile devices. In addition, E-scaffolding provides students the opportunity to understand the material and be able to solve questions so that student learning outcomes can be increased. From the research, it can be concluded that learning from home using E-Scaffolding on colloid material is effective in increasing student learning outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic
