Have you ever wondered how navigation systems in vehicles use location information to assist drivers in deciding which route to take? Many of the navigation systems alert drivers to roadway hazards such as road closures, accidents, and other hazards affecting both travel times and chosen routes. Collaboration and sharing of data among highway/roadway, public services, and the navigation systems are needed in order to inform drivers. In this featured activity, students will utilize mathematical formulas to compute distances from point A to point B looking for an optimal road to take during a commute
