The possibility of 3D scanning elements from nature facilitates the development of projects inspired by organic forms. However, 3D scanning usually produces three-dimensional models made up of polygonal meshes, while the standard used in product design is NURBS surfaces, due to their precision. In the given context, this work proposes and analyzes a code alternative for automated conversion of polygonal meshes on NURBS surfaces for use in, but not restricted to, product designs based on organic forms. For this purpose, a conversion algorithm was created using the Grasshopper© plug-in for modeling software Rhinoceros©, which allows visual programming, without the need to use a programming language.
