An Analysis Semantic on Ajahn Brahm’s Indonesian Translate Book: Si Cacing dan Kotoran Kesayangannya.

Semantic is the branches of linguistics. The branches is the important one, and there are lexical meaning and contextual meaning. By reading the novel, we can get knowledge about appreciate literature and the background of the novel. Therefore, the researcher was interested in analyzing the kind of meaning the novel itself. The researcher dedicated to give the title of this research “An Analysis Semantic on Ajahn Brahm’s Indonesian Translate Book: Si Cacing dan Kotoran Kesayangannya. The problem of this study is: what are the contextual meaning in the Ajahn Brahm’s Book. The researcher take the Ajahn Brahm’s book chapter one. The study use a descriptive qualitative method because the researcher would analysis the object of Ajahn Brahm’s book. The step to obtain the data is by collecting the sources of the data from Ajahn Brahm’s Indonesian Translate Book: Si Cacing dan Kotoran Kesayangannya. The researcher selected the paragraph which contain of semantic, reads and analyze the paragraph to understand the content and the meaning of the book itself. The result of this research is: (1) related to the contextual meaning. The researcher expects this research will be useful for the other researchers who are eager to know more about semantics. Moreover, semantic is an important branch of linguistics that is interesting to be studied, especially when it is applied to literary works, such us songs, poem or book
