This work reviews magnetic resonance imaging in thedeveloping human brain. It focuses on fetal brain imagedin vivo and in utero with complementary sections onabnormalities seen in clinical settings, and on potential ofdiffusion tensor imaging and of proton magnetic reso-nance spectroscopy. The main purposes are to illustratethe normal fetal developing brain and its abnormalitiescommonly encountered in utero, and to emphasize thepotential role of adjunct techniques such as diffusionimaging and spectroscopy that may help elucidate fetalbrain maturation and its abnormalitie
