The author provides a critical analysis of the task-based teaching approach in its current meaning. With many educationalists (Coste, Beacco for example), he shows that the task-based approach, as it is deployed in textbooks and in French as a foreign language classes (FLE), is characterized by a simplified didactic "transposition". This results in a very limited change in the language classroom. Nevertheless, the major change concerns the establishment of certificative and standardized testing.
