Atopic disease, which can be categorized as eczema, asthma, food allergy, and rhinoconjunctivitis, are some of the most frequently diagnosed chronic diseases in the world and commonly present in early childhood. Although there is a genetic basis to many atopic diseases, environmental factors involving early nutritional intervention such as maternal diet during gestation, duration of breastfeeding, topical exposure to allergens, and the introduction of vitamin and probiotics/prebiotics during the prenatal period and infancy may alleviate or prevent the disease
