This paper deals with life of power capacitors operating in harmonic overloading conditions, treated with probabilistic methods. A general electro-thermal life model is derived, which takes into account the occurrence probability of a given harmonic voltage. The model can provide estimates of multistress life in distorted conditions, thus it can evaluate the loss of life due to non-sinusoidal supply
