Students’ happiness and well-being must be central to education and teaching processes, not least because they are closely related to learning outcomes. The article deals with various connotations, speech patterns, and content of the term “happiness” in accordance with its climate (regional), economic and cultural context. As a particular example the popular in Denmark phenomenon Hygge is treated, which is concluded in “being together and sharing” - this is Dutch worldview on positive interaction and communication, which comprises various, sometimes opposite social spheres.
