This research is entitled: Linguistic weakness among students of the Department of Arabic Language at the Federal College of Education Kano, Nigeria (Causes and solutions in light of the basic foundations of teaching Arabic language to it's non-native speakers) The research aims to find out the causes of linguistic weakness among students of the Department of Arabic Language at the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria. The research highlighted the effects of the causes of students language weakness in the Arabic department, Federal College of Education. Kano, Nigeria, with clarification of the problems facing students of the Federal College of Education, Kano Nigeria and the foundations of teaching Arabic language to its non-native speakers on which the curriculum is based. The research clarified the foundations of treating language weakness among students of the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Federal Education in Kano, Nigeria, in light of the curriculum for teaching Arabic to it's non-native speakers. The researcher used the descriptive method and the analysis method, and two questionnaires for the teachers and the students. The researcher arrived at the most important results that confirmed the existence of reasons for the language weaknesses in the students of the Arabic Department at the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria, related to the curriculum and its components. The objectives of the curriculum do not provide students with the cognitive yield of Arabic as a second language, nor does it help them in building good behaviors, and it is not compatible with students' language skills and their levels of knowledge. The study revealed the reasons for the language weakness of students of the Department of Arabic at the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria that is related to the students in terms of their use of the Arabic language in various fields of life. The study revealed the reasons for the language weaknesses of students of the Department of Arabic Language at the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria, related to teachers in terms of their language, professional and cultural preparation. The researcher also recommends the need to develop a curriculum for teaching Arabic to its non-native speakers in the Department of Arabic Language in the college. And for the administration of the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria with a focus on extended reading because it constitutes a cognitive and cultural support for students and supports academic courses, and to provide its libraries with Arabic language books that suit students ’levels. The administration of the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria has to prepare training programs to advance teachers and meet their professional, technical and communication needs, and to seek the help of professors from Arab countries to hold workshops and seminars, including all experts in the field of teaching Arabic to its non-native speakers, on the management of student activity in the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria to put activities in the college in Arabic language to be presented in literary competitions, cultural nights and other accompanying programs, and the Deanship of Student Affairs at the Federal College of Education, Kano, Nigeria should pay attention to social, cultural and literary associations and encourage teachers to attend international conferences and seminars for promotion and development
