Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas y concienciación medioambiental en Estadística de Tercero de Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria

Climate change is an increasingly pressing problem but there is still time to reverse it if we act together, and education is an exceptionally valuable tool to mobilize new generations to achieve it. In this didactic proposal we intend to make students aware of how our lifestyle influences climate change, by applying the methodology of Problem Based Learning (PBL) we will contextualize the statistics didactic unit of the Applied Mathematics subject of 3rd ESO with the environmental problem of water. Based on a WebQuest, students will be guided through the separate phases of PBL research using as a guiding thread the big question: "Water Footprint: Does our attitude matter?" This main activity will be complemented by two others with the same contextualization in which ICT resources such as Excel and GeoGebra will be used to enable analytical calculation and graphical representation of statistical data. In this way, in addition to raising environmental awareness among students, the aim is to enhance their meaningful learning and the development of competencies, promoting aspects such as motivation, autonomy, individual and teamwork, integration and attention to diversity.El cambio climático es un problema cada vez más acuciante pero aún estamos a tiempo de revertirlo si actuamos de forma conjunta y la educación es una muy buena herramienta para movilizar a las nuevas generaciones para conseguirlo. En esta propuesta didáctica se pretende hacer conscientes a los alumnos de cómo nuestro estilo de vida influye en el cambio climático, para ello aplicando la metodología de Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas (ABP) se contextualizará la unidad didáctica de estadística de la asignatura de Matemáticas Aplicadas de 3º de ESO con el problema medioambiental del agua. A partir de una WebQuest se guiará a los alumnos en las diferentes fases de investigación del ABP tomando como hilo conductor la gran pregunta: “Huella hídrica. ¿Nuestra actitud importa?” Esta actividad principal se complementará con otras dos con la misma contextualización en las que se utilizarán recursos TIC como Excel y GeoGebra que permitirán el cálculo analítico y la representación gráfica de datos estadísticos. De esta forma, además de concienciar medioambientalmente a los alumnos, se pretende potenciar su aprendizaje significativo y el desarrollo de competencias, fomentando aspectos como la motivación, la autonomía, el trabajo individual y en equipo, la integración y la atención a la diversidad
