La deportación de migrantes indocumentados en la frontera norte de México

This article presents an exhaustive description of deported workers in the northem boarder of Mexico and Southem USo The main characteristics ofthe crossing are presented, both sociodemographical and those pertaining to labor. For this, the deported workers, either border residents or non residents is divided into two moments: 1993 and 1998, which concides with the 1 and IV taking ofthe EMIF census, the source used here. Later on, the calculation is made ofthe three outstanding dimentions that provide a theorethical approximation to the phenomena ofworkers deportation. Al! ofthe above is achieved by means ofthe application ofthe statistical technique of factorial analysis.En este artículo se presenta una descrípción exhaustiva acerca de los migrantes devueltos en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México. Se presentan las principales características delcruce de la frontera, sociodemográficas y laborales, dividiendo a los devueltos entre fronterizos y no ITonterizos en dos momentos: 1993 y 1998, coincidiendo con el primer y cuarto levantamientos de la Encuesta sobre Migración en la Frontera Norte (EMIF). Posteriormente se calculan las tres dimensiones más importantes que proporcionan una aproximación teórica al fenómeno de la devolución de migrantes.
