This paper addresses the concepts of rationality and rationalization in Max Weber. Drawing on the main analyses of Weber's works carried out from the Seventies of the XX century, the purpose of the paper is to conceptualize a nuanced understanding of rationality as a result of manifold processes of rationalization in order to identify useful points that help to deepen better contemporary issues. In particular, the origins and criticalities of the process of rationalization will be addressed to define rationality as a multifaceted concept.
