International audienceBased on video data, this article examines how members of a household treat some telephone calls as “organisational events” in their everyday family life. Our analysis focuses on the “post-closing” phases of the calls, in which important recontextualisations take place. That is retrospective/prospective reinterpretations and transformations of the action context, its relevancies, dynamics and participation frameworks. Indeed, once the phone conversation is closed, the mother modifies (or attempts to) the course of various ongoing home activities towards collectively centered activities, namely dinner time and its related chores.
