The effect of using comic strips on students? ability in writing recount text ( A Quasi-Experimental Study at the Eighth Grade of SMP YASIH Bogor in Academic Year 2018/2019)

The aimed of this research was to find the empirical evidence of the effect of using comic strips in students‟ ability in writing recount text in the eighth grade of SMP YASIH Bogor in the academic year 2018/2019. The sample was 42 students which were divided into two classes, namely the experiment class, and the control class. The method in this research was quantitative method using a quasiexperimental design. The instruments in this study were tests of writing, which consisted of a pre-test and a post-test. The result of this study was obtained from the t-test and the results showed that there were differences in students‟ scores in writing recount text using comic strips and without using comic strips. The statistical calculation showed the p-value was 0.001, which was lower than sig α= 0.05 (5%), (0.001
