EFL Online Classroom Management in COVID-19 Pandemic (A Descriptive Case Study at eleventh Grade of SMA Islam Dian Didaktika)

This study was aimed to investigate and describe the EFL online classroom management during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was carried out at SMA Islam Dian Didaktika, Depok. The method of this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. The information was gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that the EFL teacher supervised the classroom from pre-teaching while teaching and post-teaching based on the lesson plan and performed the strategies in the virtual classroom. It was also discovered that there were some obstacles in how online classroom activities were carried out. Students' multitasking besides studying and their internet connection are significant issues that must be addressed. To overcome the issues, the EFL teacher develops interactive activities while school and parents give the supporting system for dealing with the technical problem. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers have sufficient online classroom management competency as well as powerful facilities to overcome barriers that arise throughout classroom activities
