Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika berdasarkan teori pemrosesan infomasi dan pemberian scaffolding. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam menentukan subjek penelitian ini menggunakan teknik snowbal sampling. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII, subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 4 orang yang bersedia mengerjakan soal dengan metode think aloud dan dapat memberikan informasi yang berkaitan dengan penelitian ini. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa soal tes dan lembar wawancara.
