Adaptation of character in percy jackson and the olympians: the lightning thief: an ecranisation study

This research aims to discuss the changes in adapting the main character Percy Jackson from the novel Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2005) to a movie. The researcher used a qualitative method in conducting the research and uses the theory of ecranisation by Pamusuk Eneste to analyze and categorize the difference that was found in adapting the character Percy Jackson in the adaptation movie Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010). The research had found many elements had been reduced, added, and variated in adapting the main character Percy Jackson and argue that these changes in adapting the character are in line with the changes that were made in adapting the plot and the story of the novel to the movie.Keywords: adaptation, characters, ecranisation, novel, movie.viii, 30 hlm
