This survey aimed to understand why the midwives feel themselves overall relegated, ignored and unrecognized. This profession crosses deep changes over the past twenty years which question at the same time the professional identity and the mission of the midwife. After a series of research on the men in this profession, the author undertook a survey of more than 800 midwives in order to better understanding the sociological issues across the profession. In this analysis, it appears a real dynamic of professionalisati on differents emergent point .
