This research aims to study the experiences of doctors in the follow-up of pregnant women diagnosed with fetal malformations, seeking to investigate how they deal with these users, their families and histories. For this, interviews were carried out, based on a script prepared for the research that included nine open questions. Physicians working in the Fetal Medicine Sector of the Maternity School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) participated. The main hypothesis of the study was that doctors find different ways to deal with this situation, based on their own system of beliefs and values as one of the strategies for their performance.
