Orientações ao aleitamento materno no pré-natal

The objective was to investigate the number of postpartum women admitted to the rooming-in from a teaching maternity hospital in Rio de Janeiro who received guidance on breastfeeding in prenatal consultations and relate these guidelines to the management of breastfeeding in the postpartum period. Methodology: This is a study descriptive-exploratory with a qualitative-quantitative approach, developed with 53 postpartum women hospitalized between the months of November and January and who fulfilled the study inclusion criteria. Data collection took place through an interview. guided by a form with open and closed questions, and through observational study where attention was paid to the management of the mother with breastfeeding, aspects of the breasts, position and attachment of the baby to the breast, and the relationship of the binomial during breastfeeding. Results: There were few pregnant women who reported having received guidance on breastfeeding during prenatal care, only 17 (32%). The contents that the puerperal women reported having been addressed in the prenatal guidelines were: the importance of breastfeeding for the mother and baby, the ideal time for exclusive breastfeeding, the positioning of the newborn during breastfeeding, in addition to other guidelines regarding the stimulation of milk production, maternal nutrition and the immunological issue of the drink. Most of the interviewees said that the guidance received during the prenatal period helped and prepared them for breastfeeding in the postpartum period. And as for the positioning and holding the baby during breastfeeding, the sample showed 100% knowledge of favorable domains for perfect grip and only two unfavorable items for placement with high n. Final considerations: necessary to increase the number of professionals interested in education breastfeeding during prenatal care, and that they are qualified to do so. In way that they know how to identify and work their guidelines on top of the uniqueness of each pregnant woman. We believe that the inclusion of a family member or matrix of support for this woman in the educational process would bring very satisfactory.Objetivou-se investigar o número de puérperas internadas no alojamento conjunto de uma maternidade de ensino do Rio de Janeiro que receberam orientações sobre aleitamento materno nas consultas de pré-natal e relacionar essas orientações com o manejo da amamentação no pós-parto. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-exploratório com abordagem quali-quantitativa, desenvolvido com 53 puérperas internadas entre os meses de novembro a janeiro e que preenchiam os critérios de inclusão do estudo. A coleta dos dados se deu por meio de entrevista direcionada por formulário com perguntas abertas e fechadas, e por meio observacional onde se atentou para o manejo da mãe com a amamentação, aspectos das mamas, posição e pega do bebê a mama, e o relacionamento do binômio durante o aleitamento. Resultados: Foram poucas as gestantes que relataram terem recebido orientações sobre aleitamento materno no pré-natal, apenas 17 (32%). Os conteúdos que as puérperas relataram terem sido abordados nas orientações do pré-natal foram: a importância do aleitamento materno para a mãe e o bebê, o tempo ideal de aleitamento materno exclusivo, o posicionamento do recém-nato durante a amamentação, além de outras orientações quanto à estimulação à produção de leite, a alimentação materna e a questão imunológica do bebê. A maioria das entrevistadas disseram que as orientações recebidas no pré-natal ajudaram e prepararam para a amamentação no pós-parto. E quanto ao posicionamento e pega do bebê durante a amamentação, a amostra apresentou 100% de conhecimento dos domínios favoráveis para pega perfeita e apenas dois itens desfavoráveis para posicionamento com n alto. Considerações finais: É necessário que se aumente o número de profissionais interessados em educação em aleitamento materno no pré-natal, e que esses sejam habilitados para fazê-lo. De maneira que saibam identificar e trabalhar suas orientações em cima da singularidade de cada gestante. Acreditamos que a inserção de um familiar ou da matriz de apoio dessa mulher no processo educacional traria resultados bastante satisfatórios
