The objective was to investigate the number of postpartum women admitted to the rooming-in from a teaching maternity hospital in Rio de Janeiro who received guidance on breastfeeding in prenatal consultations and relate these guidelines to the management of breastfeeding in the postpartum period. Methodology: This is a study descriptive-exploratory with a qualitative-quantitative approach, developed with 53 postpartum women hospitalized between the months of November and January and who fulfilled the study inclusion criteria.
