Objective: to evaluate the conformity of the identification of the binomial (mother/baby) through the checklist of the bracelet at the Maternity School of UFRJ. methodology: Quantitative, descriptive and transversal study carried out in the rooming-in of the Maternity School of UFRJ. The sample consisted of 432 observations of the binomial. Data collection was carried out from September to December 2017 by completing an instrument. Descriptive statistics with absolute (n) and relative (%) frequencies were used for data analysis. Result: The percentage of bracelets for puerperal women with non-compliance, 26.4% and the percentage of bracelets for newborns with non-compliance, 25.0%, totaling 25.7% of binomials with failures.
