This was a survey that was configured in a Working Residence Course Conclusion Multidisciplinary Health Perinatal Maternity Hospital, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The initiative came about through the experience of professional practice during the period of residence, where he saw the distress of mothers at first contact with the child in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) referring to hard technologies used in the care. Thus, the objective of the study is to understand the intellectual representation of mothers with child admitted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in relation to hard technologies used in the care.
