Airport pavement uneveness is analyzed in comparison with pilots’ opinion concerning rolling smoothness and comfort conditions offered by runways to aerial operations. As a revision, a short comment about the vibratory theory and the aircraft-pavement interaction is done, emphasizing the main aspects to be observed regarding the runway uneveness. The present stage of development, in methods and equipments to measure the roughness and to evaluate the ride quality of pavements, also supported the toils of this research. Both, the selected device for roughness measurement - the IPR/ USP INTEGRATOR - and its calibration method are described in details.
