The aim of this paper is to analyse the economic development in each country of the CLMV group (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam) after joining the association and to show on selected economic indicators the extent of the development gap between the two generations. Then, to answer what is the share of these countries in ASEAN's international trade, whether the second generation countries are more involved in intra-ASEAN trade and the second generation countries are more involved in extra-ASEAN trade. Describe the steps ASEAN has taken towards deepening the economic integration of member countries and what it intends to do in the forthcoming years.
