Readiness of Czech secondary school teachers for the education of individuals with autism

The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of autism and observes its manifestation at secondary education. First it defines the concept of autism spectrum disorder, its characteristics, and the most common manifestations. Consequently it deals with the issue of education and development of students with this disorder and introduces the institutions that provide counselling in this area. Finally, it brings up the possibilities of inclusion with an analysis of its advantages and disadvantages. The practical part focuses on the selected secondary school‘s experience with students with an autism spectrum disorder. The primary goal of the work is to show, with help of interviews with secondary school teachers, the lack of information and knowledge of working with students with such a disorder. The secondary goal is to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the student's inclusion for the student themself as well as the teacher and class.Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou autismu a sleduje jeho projevy ve vazbě na středoškolské vzdělávání. Nejprve vymezuje pojem poruchy autistického spektra, jejich charakteristiku a nejčastější projevy. Následně se zabývá problematikou vzdělávání a rozvoje žáků s touto poruchou a přibližuje instituce, které poskytují poradenství v této oblasti. Rozebírá také možnosti inkluze s rozborem výhod a nevýhod. Praktická část se soustředí na vybrané střední školy a jejich zkušenosti s žáky s poruchou autistického spektra. Cílem práce je pomocí rozhovorů se středoškolskými učiteli ukázat na nedostatečnou informovanost a znalost práce s žáky s touto poruchou. Sekundárním cílem je rozbor výhod a nevýhod inkluze pro žáka, učitele a školní třídu
