Harmonic distortion is one of important factor to consider in power system network. In a big network such as wind power plant (WPP), careful analysis and mitigation steps is essential. Many aspects including resonances created from interactions between inductive and capacitive elements must be considered. Passive filter or tuned filters are common solution for mitigating harmonics by creating path for specific harmonic but many times it created a resonance issue. By implementing hybrid filter, an active filter connected in series with shunt passive filter, it enhances the ability of damping the resonant.
