Aims: People with metabolic syndrome are at increased risk for developing diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. The present study aimed to assess the metabolic syndrome in type 2 diabetes and compare them with two used methods of diagnostic criteria in Gorgan. Methods: The study group included 293 type 2 diabetic patients whom referred to the Department of Diabetes Center in Golestan University of Medical Sciences (2011).
