On the 21st of July 2009, a law called the Hospital Patient Health Territorial was passed which gives midwives autonomy to prescribe methods of contraception to all women that have a history of continued good health, and also to perform well woman health checks. We have established a study directed at pregnant women under both public and private health care. The purpose of this study was to record and evaluate their expectations and opinions towards this new service, but also to check patients opinions of what role of the midwife should take within the sexual and reproductive health of women.
