Abstract

Neonatal jaundice and the exit of maternity hospital. Assessment in Ile-de-France 2012. Neonatal jaundice is a frequent pathology which concerns 60 % of the newborn. Among these neonatal jaundice, 2,5 in 5,0% will develop into a severe hyperbilirubinemia. Since a few years, we have noted an outbreak of the number of cases of kernicterus. Faced with this report, we tried - thanks to two retrospective studies led between July, 2012 and January, 2013 with the paediatricians of Ile-de-France and the parents coming to consult in the National Reference center in Hémobiologie Périnatale - to study the organization of the system of screening, diagnosis and care as well as to identify its failures.
