Abstract

Monitoring of pregnancy and childbirth in women 43 years and over. In 20 years, the number of late pregnancies has doubled. This paper aims to verify the maternal, obstetric and neonatal prognosis of 43 years and older women. A retrospective study, from 2004 to 2011, was conducted in a maternity of type IIA. 114 women 43 years and older (mean age = 43, 7 years) were compared to 122 matched controls, aged from 25 to 30 years of age (mean age = 27, 7 years). Our study shows an increased rate of gestational diabetes (16,7 % vs 6,6 %, p = 0,025, OR = 2,8 [1,12 ; 7,84]), a growth rate of caesarean (48,2 % vs 23 %, p < 0,001, OR = 3,11[1,70 ; 5,7]).
