International audienceDevelopmental dysphasia is defined by a severe and specific deficit in oral language development.The aim of this study is to evidence a possible deficit in the categorical perception of speech soundsby dysphasic children. Identification and discrimination responses to stimuli generated by selectivemodifications of natural /aga/ and /aka/ logotemes were collected in a group of dysphasic children(N=16) and control children (N=33) of the same chronological age. The results confirm the predictionsand suggest that dysphasic children display an allophonic mode of speech perception similar to the onepreviously evidenced in dyslexic children.
