In this thesis we have started by developing the theory for the electroweak Standard Model. A prerequisite for this purpose is a knowledge of gauge theory. For obtaining the Standard Model Lagrangian which describes the entire electroweak SM and the theory in the form of an equation, we need to develop ideas on spontaneous symmetry breaking and Higgs mechanism which will lead to the generation of masses for the gauge bosons and fermions. This is the first part of my thesis. In the second part, we have moved on to radiative corrections which acts as a technique for the verification of QED and the Standard Model.
