Hands-on educational experience serves California's central coast, teaching marine biology, ecology, sailing and navigation using an on-shore classroom and 65' catamaran. As payment for the trip, students design and perform a community service project. Includes background information for teachers, photos and definitions of equipment in English and Spanish, and suggested links for further information. Teachers and group leaders can sign up on-line for 3-hour programs, July-December or March-June. Educational levels: Intermediate elementary, Middle school
