Award-winning museum in Halifax focuses on Nova Scotia's maritime history. Exhibits cover ships, shipping, naval warfare, life at sea. Collection contains artifacts, images, charts relating to the Navy, merchant marine, small craft and local shipwrecks from 1850 to the present, including a 1913 hydrographic vessel. Living history presentations, boat building classes and other activities engage visitors. Teachers can book hands-on programs in oceanography, maritime history, and more.
