These course materials are for a basic college course in geology. Included are a course syllabus, websites of interest, the course project guidelines, and two field trip guides. Students can download a copy of the Periodic Table of the Elements and the Geologic Time Scale (detailed or simplified version). The main feature of the site is a series of slide shows for ten lectures covering basic geology with a focus on California. In addition there are lists of California's common rocks and minerals with photographs of each. Educational levels: High school, Undergraduate lower division
