L’exploitation de l’énergie solaire permettrait de faire face au réchauffement climatique et à la demande grandissante d’énergie. L’énergie solaire peut être convertie directement en énergie chimique. Dans ce contexte, il est présenté une photoanode de TiO2 capable, par l’absorption de lumière, de dissocier l’eau et de générer de l’hydrogène : un carburant. Pour optimiser la photoconversion du matériau, le TiO2 a été nanostructuré, afin d’améliorer l’utilisation des charges photogénérées et une stratégie de co-alliage a été employée pour étendre la photoréponse du matériau.
