Music has expanded in sports since the 1970s. It plays a role in attention, emotions, and helps to reduce muscle fatigue. Music can modulate sports performance. Positive effects of music were found for low or medium intensity physical exertions. However, for high-intensity efforts, opinions on the influence of music diverge. The main objective was to study the influence of fast tempo music on the maximum capacity of effort, with the Metabolic Equivalent of the Task (MET) as the judging criterion. The secondary objectives were to assess the impact of music on the maximum heart rate, maximum power and total duration of the effort.
