Introduction: Hip fracture is a common serious injury afflicting the geriatric population. Many orthogeriatric strategies have been developed to improve effectiveness and security of care in elderly people. The aim of this study is to assess the care given in an orthogeriatric unit in hip fracture. Materials and methods: We conducted a single centre retrospective study at the Caen University Hospital (France). We compared 252 patients who received traditional orthopaedic care with 194 patients treated in an orthogeriatric unit including 2 geriatricians.
