International audiencePronunciation has a particular status in the field of the teaching and the learning of foreign languages. Theses particularities (specifically for French as a foreign language) rely on a peculiar epistemology fluctuating between two poles: behaviourism and variationism. The result is the emergence of complex teaching attitudes that leads to a general feeling of illegitimacy – even stronger when it comes to the so-called “non-native” teachers.
