The purpose of this research was to determine the diversity of birds present in a fragment of urban forest in regeneration, with an area of 27 839 m2, located at the Centro Regional Universitario de Azuero (CRUA), Universidad de Panama. Four visits were made to the study site during April and May 2019, where we used counting techniques by direct observation and auditory recognition; sightings were supported by comparison with Panama's bird field guides, electronic databases, and mobile applications. A total of 360 individuals were reported, a specific richness of 37 bird species, a Simpson index of 0,93 and a Shannon index of 2,9.
