The effectiveness of the kangaroo mother method for the management of non-surgical pain was investigated in a group of newborns from the neonatology service of a local hospital. Quantitative, experimental approach. The sample of 16 infants (8 from the experimental group to whom the kangaroo breast method was applied to manage non-surgical pain and, 8 infants from the control group who underwent routine therapeutic procedures without pain control strategies, such as established in the service care protocol); it was intentionally captured.
