After the restoration of Lithuania’s Independence, state institutions, such as the Ministry of the Interior governing the Police and the Ministry of National Defence controlling the Lithuanian Armed Forces resumed their activities as well. The Bachelor’s thesis analyzes personnel management functions, namely personnel recruitment and assessment, performed by these institutions. The Lithuanian police and armed forces are of major importance as the police are responsible for internal public security, e.g. crime and traffic safety, whereas the military deals with national defence.
